this is an… interesting… video. heh this is a music video that was evidently pretty popular in sweden. it’s by basshunter, some swedish dj. the strange thing is… it’s about an irc bot. weird. and if you don’t know what irc is, it stands for “internet relay chat.” it’s a pretty old chat system that’s still used quite a bit, although it doesn’t get much attention nowadays. anyways… here’s the video:

pridefest. what more needs to be said?
well let’s just see. right now i’m coming down from my happy place (those of you that hung around me for a while–matt, nick, justin, gregoricus, etc–ya’ll should know what i mean). i’ve been in that happy place for the majority of the weekend, which isn’t really a bad thing. i went to pride; it was pretty cool. i mean, i had a really good time, but not necessarily because it was pride. more likely because i was able to see all my good friends, get trashed, and hang out in the park. fab-u-lous.
i had a pretty good time yesterday… matt and nick picked me up around 2:30ish… i drank a few bacardi wine cooler things… and although they’re not quite my choice of drink, they worked well for being in the park. the highlight of saturday–walking behind the stage, drinking a watermelon bacardi beverage… i hear some security guy go, “ohhhhhhhh!” then he taps me on the shoulder, looks at my frosty (well maybe not quite so frosty at that point) beverage, and says, “ohhh! that’s a glass bottle!” i look at him, then at the bottle in my hand, then back and him, “ummm… yeah?” he proceeds to tell me that glass bottles aren’t allowed, so i should stick it in my pocket. so i do. until i find a lemonade stand to purchase a plastic cup of lemonade… for the sole purchase of containing my beverage in a plastic, rather that glass, container. amazing.
saturday night after pride we had some bar louie (which was awesome, btw), and went back to my place for a couple strawberri martinis. then we ended up at tony’s house for a small gathering. i played bartender for a lil bit, but by that point i really wasn’t too interested in drinking, so that was mostly a sober event. we left around 2:30-3:00ish and drove back to my apt in the cwe.
sunday morning… a few hours later…
it seems like i saw a lot more people saturday than sunday, but i still saw quite a few people on sunday. i can’t possibly give props out to everybody that i saw both days… so i just want to say i love ya all.
now… justin txt’d me around 11:00am… i had just gotten up, so i wasn’t ready by any means. he wanted to see whether i wanted to go to the parade or not. i didn’t really care too much at that point, but i ended up getting ready and out the door in a half hour. he had walked over, so we drove from my place over to park in east jesus by tower grove park. we got to grand about 10 mins before the parade started… and then we didn’t really even watch it that much. lol
we wandering around, mingling, grabbed a beer… for a little bit. then we left and went over to south city to pick up justin’s friend robyne. she’s a riot. on the way back, we ran by the grocery store to pick up a little alcohol. justin an i chugged a few khalua things; robyne chugged a couple beers. back at pride, i had several “summer hummers,” and those were making me feel pretty good. robyne spills beer in her purse… all over everything. lol so we have to go back to the car. which is like… 300 miles away. oh well. the journey out of the park takes awhile, cause at this point everyone we both know are finding us and saying hello… so it takes us about 45 minutes just to walk out of the pride area. heh
now… i wasn’t sure exactly where i had parked……. and that wasn’t really a good thing. cause we didn’t end up finding my car. an hour and a half later, we give up looking. our feet hurt, and we flagged down an ice cream man (you know, the kind that drive the annoying vans with the annoying music that probably sell weed as well as ice cream?) and purchase some ice cream. it was the best ice cream ever. well, being tired of walking probably contributed to that. we figured we’d find the car later.
we went back to pride, chilled with some people, and finally ended up getting a ride with justin’s roommate around 7:30pm. he drove us to find my car… which just so happened to be about 100 feet from where we were when we gave up looking for it the first time. good times.
after dropping robyne off, we drove back to justin’s place. we decided we were hungry, and decided to go to bar louie. (oh, it’s THAT good hehe) we tried forcing justin’s roommate to come with us, be he wasn’t having any of that, so it was just justin and i. we ate, got really full on some fabulous grub, and decided to grab a drink. (yeah, at this point we’re both still a little toasty) so we go to the zone. there really wasn’t a good vibe there, so we didn’t stay too long. they were playing some weird mexico city pride footage on the tvs there… it was just some strange video. enough to make us think that mexico city pride was not the place to be. ever. lol
anyways, we were pretty exhausted at that point, so we only had one drink there. but i have to say to everyone that i had a really awesome time this weekend. even though there were a lot of people dressed in ways they shouldn’t have been… even though my feet are going to hurt like hell tomorrow (and probably the day after that)… i was just a great time.
and if you’ve read this far… jesus this is a really long freakin post… i love ya. but if not, i love ya anyways. 
but now my fingers hurt, and i’m going to go pass the fuck out. g’night.
ok, i’ve been using this for a little while now… and i think it’s really cool. so i want more people to use it.

anyways… what it does is this: any time you play music, it’ll track what you play and send the artist/album/track info to last.fm. after you play some music, it will start giving you recommendations on music to listen to that you may not have heard of. i have a little over 1,500 tracks played so far, and it’s getting pretty good at recommending artists that i haven’t heard of… but they’ve been pretty damn good. i’m actually really impressed with the site… i don’t recommend things like this too often. but i thought it was really cool, and i want more people on it. so go sign up!

i have two short videos that i took while i was at six flags yesterday. the first is of superman. i didn’t take one while i was actually on the ride. i wasn’t sure what to expect, and i wasn’t ready to lose my camera.
the second is from batman. this one is kinda cool, except some chick is screaming her damn head off behind us. and it’s windy. but we were sitting in the front row when i took this one.
i’m working on getting some of the pics up now, so hopefully i have them up soon.
i ended up going to six flags today after all. i’m actually kinda happy i did… i had a blast. i went with kris and james and then met up with nick and matt a little later on. i saw quite a few people there, though. (not that that’s all too surprising ) i brought my camera, but i’m too tired to put up any pics or anything right now. i don’t have a whole lot, but i have a couple cool ones to put up. and a couple cool vids. you’ll have to wait til tomorrow night or so though.
right now i’m kinda slap-happy and delirious, cause i’m so tired. lol we left six flags around 9:00 when they closed… and kris, james, and i went back to the cwe to have some applebees. i think we were all pretty delirious, so we were entertaining our server(s). oh, and apparently we were entertaining some other table inside, cause they kept staring at us the entire meal. we were just laughing a lot, that’s all. anyways, when we got up to leave, they starting banging on the windows trying to get our attention, but we just left anyways. lol instead james just honked at them as we drove off. good times. we didn’t know who they were anyway. *shrug*
anyways… let’s see… what did i ride that was exciting today?… i had never been on excalibur before, so that was kinda cool. nothing too awfully exciting, but cool cause it was new. matt, nick, and i flew on the dragon’s wing… i got to pull the cord thingy. i had been on that before… a long time ago. i’m totally scared of heights, and pointing down towards the ground like that…. totally freakin me out. but once we were falling down to the ground i felt better. lol ok, the superman ride… was broken for a long time, but they finally fixed it. and then the line was long. but we waited about 45 mins in line… until some chick had a seizure and they closed the damn thing again. and we were going to be the next ones on. but luckily it was only closed for like 10 minutes. let me tell you… i don’t think it was quite as frightening as dragon’s wing… well i dunno. close tie. it goes higher. and you really don’t see much else around you except for… sky. and ground. but the ground is like 230 feet below you. yikes. it’s definitely an experience. it must have not been that bad, cause we all rode it twice. whew. it was fun though.
anyhoot, i’m going to go to sleep now, but i’ll try to put up the pics and vids i have tomorrow night after work.
i didn’t really have any plans last night…
i’m online, chatting with a few people, playing with my new toy… justin gets online and asks if i want to go to the zone. ok, no big deal. so we go. too many rum and cokes. we ended up giving our number to some cracked out guy that thought we were cool. that was the extent of the zone excitement. then they closed and kicked us out. while walking back towards justin’s apartment, we decided we weren’t done yet. so we went to the oz. that was a mistake. well, not really. except that i drank waaaaaay too much. so this is what i remember: i’m drinking, sitting on a couch with justin… then i wake up this morning at 11:00 am in my bed. what? huh? dude, where’s my car? at least i was nice enough to myself to plug in my ipod. and my phone. *shrug* wierdness. you know it was a rough night when you’re traveling down the elevator, praying that your car is downstairs in the garage. wow. so anyways, i was a tad late to work this morning.
i got to work and was texting justin to make sure he was alive. he finally sends me a message, so that’s good. apparently we went to mcdonalds last night. that’s not all that weird. but we attempted to order something 3 times. i say attempted because they weren’t open. i guess we realized that after the 3rd attempt. i think that’s the worst that happened. at least that’s all justin told me. heh
so i have one hell of a hangover. i want to be in bed right now. i’m so taking a nap when i get home from work. ugh.
john stewert interviewed bill bennett on a recent episode of the daily show. i don’t think bennett defended himself very well. i know that i’m a little biased on this issue, but i just don’t understand how extreme right wing people can’t seem to back themselves up on some of these issues. the answer always seems to be “just because.” watch and see bennett squirm.

i was fiddling around with my web cam a couple days ago… and since i’m a dork, there’s a new link on my site on the left–pauliecam–it’s a live view outside the window of my apartment. it updates every 20 or so seconds, so try it out and let me know what ya think. not much there besides the occasional cloud passing by. lol
i want to try to think of a way to point it down toward the street… but i’m not really sure offhand how to do that while keeping the camera stable. i’ll see what i can think up.

if you’ve ever been to the zone on a tuesday night for showtune tuesday, then you’ve more than likely seen this. if you haven’t, then you should watch this.
it’s a video mash-up of the movie mommie dearest with abba’s mama mia playing in the background. it’s been around for quite some time, but it’s done pretty well. makes me giggle every time i see it.
ok… so i started writing this post saturday, but never finished it. so now it will become a weekend recap instead of just a friday night recap.
mary, mary, mary. you are such a bad influence on me.
i drank waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much friday night. hehe well, here’s how it all went down. we went to the drunken fish for some din-din. we both ordered the same things the whole night through. our waiter thought that mary and i were on a date. how cute! i think that changed by the time we left though. lol after dinner, several martinis, some tempura fried cheesecake, and another martini, we left and went to blueberry hill to meet up with mary’s cousin tony. we had two–or was it three?–vodka and red bulls there. (actually it’d be more like 1.5 or 2.5, since they stole our drinks while they were kicking everyone out when we both went to the bathroom) on a side note, blueberry hill closes at 1:30am. i thought all those places in the loop were open til 3am. oh well. anyways, them closing gave us an excuse to run over to the pin-up bowl. we all walked down there and had a few rum and cokes. around this time i lose all recollection of time. i have no clue how long we stayed there, but afterwards, mary, tony, tony’s friend nate, and i drove over to somebody’s house party nearby. hell if i know how i got there. lol anyways, we stayed there for a bit, then i decided that we needed to go to the city diner. don’t ask me why i wanted it. i wasn’t really hungry. but it’s turned into this end of friday and/or saturday night ritual thing.
anyways, i had a fabulous time friday night with mary. she is super awesome to hang out and get drunk with.
now… i was going to finish up this post last night after a “short snooze.” unfortunately, my short snooze turned into a 14 hour nap. lol i didn’t end up getting up until around 10am this morning. guess i was tired.
but onward to saturday night’s events… first i went to my friend michael’s going away party at lenny’s house. i hadn’t seen him in a while, so i wanted to at least stop by for a little bit prior to going to the housewarming party. that brings me to another topic regarding pridefest… but i think i’ll save that for another post.
after leaving lenny’s, i drove over to matt’s place. a couple people there were a little drunk, but not too bad. nick, on the other hand, was wasted. i’m pretty sure he told me he loved me at least 40 times in the first 5 minutes that i was there. lol i figured he probably started drinking at noon. hehe
i got to see lil jeffrey again, who’s moving back here from LA, so that makes me happy. yay! i’m not sure what was going on with tony and danny… but i’m sure i’ll hear about it at some point. matt was right when he said you should have stayed, danny. greg, you missed out on some good times. and so did you rodger. i made some yummylicious strawberry martinis that i think you would have enjoyed.
sometime around 2:30am the cops showed up. i figured that would mean trouble, but they really weren’t all that bad. lucky was being slightly obnoxious, but the cops were pretty nice about it all. they basically just told us to keep it down and left it at that. right after they left, lucky and jeff got into it, then i had to step in to try to calm jeff down. one unforgettable moment was when zach was talking to lucky, sticking up for jeff…. lucky said that he was going to beat zach’s ass…. here comes jeff, running out of the other bedroom, wielding none other than zach’s bright yellow stiletto. that was just great. so i had to carry jeff back into the other room to calm him down again. good times, let me tell ya. that was really the only dramatic moment of the evening, and that really wasn’t all that bad.
all in all, a pretty good party. i had a lot of fun, and i think everyone else did, too, for the most part.

you know… i’d really love to write a blog right now recapping the weekend’s events… but i’m damn pooped. too much booze and too little sleep. lol
